Boundary Coach is an AI-powered communication training tool designed to help professionals develop assertive communication skills through realistic roleplay scenarios.

Most people never practice difficult conversations before having them. They wing it, get emotional, and either cave or explode. Both outcomes damage relationships and careers.

Boundary Coach gives you a safe space to practice. Our AI agents simulate the exact dynamics you face at work — dismissive managers, passive-aggressive coworkers, guilt-tripping colleagues — so you can develop your skills without real-world consequences.

Why I Built This

I was struggling with communication patterns in the workplace that were negatively impacting my mental health. I couldn't name what was going on. I didn't understand it. And because I couldn't name it, I couldn't figure out how to respond differently — or have a different experience.

My world got very dark, and with the help of others, I started learning about boundaries, anger, and healthy communication. And I realized that I had a lot to learn — and practice. I had a massive skills deficit. I could learn this. I knew I was capable. But practicing boundaries and assertive communication can be risky and tricky when you're already in a challenging relationship or workplace. It might feel safer to not practice in real life, because the consequences of saying or doing the wrong thing may be too high.

I originally planned to use therapy to role-play difficult conversations — to practice responding to the people I had to communicate with at work. And while therapy was a really good environment for this — a safe container to practice skills — I wanted to start now. I wanted to improve quickly. I was deeply motivated to learn these skills, put them to work, and feel confident in my ability to navigate difficult situations.

So I built this app for myself to practice. And it really helped me see the patterns — the red flags, the communication styles, the tactics that used to leave me frozen. If you're where I was, I hope it helps you too.

A Note on Mental Health

However, Boundary Coach is a skill-building tool, not a replacement for mental health care.
